CDR (Canadian Depository Receipt)
A way to buy fractions of US stocks (like Apple, Google) on Canadian exchanges in Canadian dollars. CDRs trade on NEO Exchange and TSX. Commission-free on platforms like Wealthsimple Trade and Neo.
Why it matters: $0 commission means even small gains are pure profit — no fees eating into your returns.
Conviction Tier
VERY HIGH — multiple independent algorithms + multiple data sources all agree. Strongest consensus.
HIGH — strong algorithm agreement with solid technical backing.
MEDIUM — single strong signal or weaker multi-signal alignment.
Higher conviction = more independent systems agreeing = lower chance of being wrong.
Win Rate
Percentage of past trades from this algorithm that made money. Example: "85% win rate" means 85 out of 100 trades were profitable based on 30-day historical backtesting.
We only use algorithms with 72%+ proven win rate — well above the 50% coin-flip threshold.
Algorithm Consensus
When multiple independent stock-picking systems (stock_picks, miracle v2, miracle v3) all recommend the same ticker. Each uses different logic, so agreement is meaningful — not echo-chamber overlap.
One algorithm being right could be luck. Three independent ones agreeing is a pattern.
Edge
A statistical advantage over random chance. If a strategy wins 70% of the time, the "edge" is 20% above the 50/50 baseline. The Edge Finder specifically looks for setups where the historical edge is largest.
Backtested
Tested against historical data. "30-day backtest" means we replayed the last 30 days of real market data through the algorithm to see how it would have performed. Caution: past performance does not guarantee future results.
